RESIDENCE for CLIENT with MACULAR DEGENERATION
A continuous curved wall sweeps through this residence with high contrast colors to guide the resident seamlessly throughout their home.
The sculptural wall divides the resident into three distinct sections – public, semi-public and private. Each partition the wall creates contain unique storage options to limit clutter and small objects throughout the home.
One partition is full height at 9’, one is set at 6’ and one at 3’.
A warm, contrasting color palette throughout the space provides warmth and comfort in the home. Contrasting cool colors throughout the space add to the calm, peaceful environment.
Lighting throughout the residence was addressed through a transition space in which the resident can allow their eyes to adjust from natural to artificial light. Windows line the top of the watts throughout the space and a light shelf sits at its base to allow light to diffuse into the space creating indirect light.
